Class Descriptions
Yin Yoga
Yin Yoga is a slow-paced practice, where poses are held for 3 to 5 minutes. It’s a wonderful style of yoga to unwind and release, and is a perfect balance to the more dynamic yoga practices. The poses are predominately floor-based, using the support of props, as needed. Yin Yoga is designed to stretch and work the connective tissues – ligaments, tendons and fascia – within the body to help improve flexibility and mobility, whilst cultivating mindful awareness of the mind and body.
This style of yoga is suitable for all levels of experience. It is especially beneficial for those living a fast-paced, busy lifestyle (yang style!), as well as anyone wanting to release tightness within their body. You will leave the class feeling lighter, more open, and completely blissed out!
Vinyasa Flow
Vinyasa Flow classes are a dynamic style of yoga class that synchronises movement with the breath. The class consists of a continuous flow of poses, which helps to build strength, endurance and flexibility, as well as calmness and focus within the mind. From starting the class with fluid movement, the class transitions to slower-paced movement with longer-held poses to stretch and release and then finally, savasana (rest).
Vinyasa Flow classes are suitable for all levels, with variations and modifications offered throughout the class to support beginner students.
Prenatal Yoga
Prenatal Yoga is a nurturing, safe and supportive class designed to help relieve the aches and pains of pregnancy, whilst also preparing the mumma-to-be for childbirth. Prenatal Yoga helps to improve circulation, balance, strength, as well as strengthening the muscles used in childbirth, and flexibility. It also helps to calm the body and mind, reducing anxiety and improving sleep. Most of all, it is a perfect way to connect with baby. Prenatal Yoga consists of a balanced blend of yoga poses, from a slow flow sequence, to standing and seated poses, as well as breathing exercises and relaxation.
Prenatal Yoga is recommended from 12 weeks onwards. It is advised to consult with your health practitioner before starting yoga.
